The Grass is Always Greener...

My husband has lawn envy. When we go on neighborhood walks, he points out the lush, healthy lawns and curses our weed-ridden yard. I keep reminding him that our big, beautiful trees are the reason we can’t grow perfect grass — you can’t have both! (DM me if you've figured out how.)

You know the saying, “the grass is always greener on the other side.” It’s really about perception — the idea that someone else’s situation always looks better than our own.

I can think of plenty of times I thought a change would make things “greener” — a new job, a move, a relationship, even a new car. Sometimes it was better for a while, but I’ve learned that every “greener” patch of grass comes with its own set of weeds. 🌱

Don't get me wrong. Wanting something different isn’t necessarily bad — it can push us to grow. But it’s also worth doing a bit of reflection and appreciating where we are, even if our “yard” isn’t perfectly manicured.

💬 What does “greener” mean to you? Have you ever made a big life decision thinking it would be better on the other side? How did it turn out?
